The requirements for all grades of membership are as follows:
MEMBERS
Members shall be those persons of professional status whose major responsibilities are environmental engineering, management, research and testing or the manufacturer of equipment for environmental control and abatement. Professional status shall be academic qualification as well as experience or responsibility in Environmental Disciplines. The following requirement apply:

(a) |
A senior qualification such as corporate membership of one of the major Engineering or related professional institutions or tertiary degree and minimum age of 25 with not less than 2 years experience in environmental engineering or research in an associated field.

| or |
(b) |
A junior professional qualification such as a Polytechnic Diploma and a minimum age of 30 with not less than four years experience in environmental engineering or research or in an associated field.

| or |
(c) |
No formal academic qualification but with not less than ten years in a responsible position of which at least six years have been spent in environmental engineering or research or in an associated field.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS
Associate Members shall be those persons whose professional status does not qualify them for full membership as defined above. The following requirements shall apply:

(a) |
At least school certificate and currently employed in environmental engineering or in an associated field.
|
| or |
(b) |
No formal academic qualification but with at least two years' experience in environmental engineering or in an associated field.

STUDENT MEMBERS
Student Members shall be those persons who are beginning or intend to begin a career in environmental engineering or research, or in an associated field, and who are under the age of 30 when the annual subscription becomes due. |

SPONSOR COMPANY MEMBERS
Any Company registered in Singapore associated with Environmental Engineering who agrees with the aims of the Society and whose application for membership is accepted by the Society as a Sponsor Company Member. |

LIFE MEMBERS
Any member who has been a member of the Society for a minimum continuous period of five years shall upon payment of the prescribed fee become a life member of the Society without having to pay the usual annual subscription. |
